Once upon a time, I thought that fighter jets and firearms were just about the coolest things around. And while I still admire warplanes and such, my tastes have become decidedly more domestic and I find myself appreciating old tractors and chainsaws in much the same way.

Also a 1952 8n, I bought this old girl to use and learn on while waiting for my grand dad's to be repaired. In this picture, I managed to get it stuck pretty good while attempting some fall plowing. I've since sold it.

Our very first "tractor". This Case 444 was the first piece of machinery we bought to help out around the farm. An all steel over-sized garden tractor from the 70's sporting a class zero 3 point hitch, it was actually surprisingly useful and resilient. Alas, I over-worked it and cracked the frame in half from too much rotor-tilling. A friend helped to weld it back together for another full year of service before I moved on. Sometimes, I wish I'd kept it.
